There are around 100 organisations in Britain that place volunteers overseas. People of all ages can get involved in volunteering from gap year students through to people taking a career break or retiring. Volunteer placements may last as long as 2 years or as little as a few days.
Most opportunities will require you to pay for your own travel arrangements, and some will require an administration fee. Our Volunteering Overseas 2017 listing provides full guidance to get you started as well as a listing of some of the most well known charities providing overseas volunteering placements.
