THE LOCAL FUND for the Harrogate District is an innovative approach to creating a local, long term, sustainable fund to support charitable activity in the Harrogate district

THE LOCAL FUND for the Harrogate District

THE LOCAL FUND was launched in January 2018 to address local need by supporting the work of community groups and charities whose work is dedicated to improving the lives of local people. THE LOCAL FUND will help transform the lives of vulnerable people in need across the Harrogate District, including Ripon, Knaresborough, Masham, Pateley Bridge, Boroughbridge and all of the surrounding areas.

In 2019, £70k was invested through THE LOCAL FUND in grassroots community organisations making a positive difference to the lives of local people across the district.  As well as grants awarded by the panel through the second round of funding, 6 local groups successfully pitched their case to our generous local Dragons! Read more about the awards here

Last year over 50 guests joined us at a celebration of the 1st anniversary of THE LOCAL FUND, kindly hosted by the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.  There was a wealth of information shared about the fund including a short film featuring grant recipients, slideshows and speeches which give a real flavour of achievements and future ambitions. Read more here

The Vital Signs Report published in November 2017 highlighted the hidden and unseen needs in the district and helps makes the case for support and need for THE LOCAL FUND.

THE LOCAL FUND is a three-way partnership between Harrogate Borough Council, HARCVS and Two Ridings Community Foundation
