Cleaning Assistant
Sue Ryder (Harrogate District)
Description of the role:

Support our shops to give customers the best possible experience in store, keeping the shop clean and tidy and looking its best.

Role Overview

Are you someone who likes to see things clean and tidy or simply have some spare time to come and help us to keep our shop spic and span? Yes? Then we’d absolutely love to meet you!

Sue Ryder's team in Knaresborough are looking for help in keeping the shop neat, clean and looking its best. You would be helping out in the front and back of house, just making sure that the dust and grime is kept at bay.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys keeping busy and being part of a team.

We really appreciate everything our volunteers do. Commitment is flexible, but covering shop opening and closing times would be ideal.

If you’d like to know more, get in touch to arrange a taster session where you can try out the role and meet the team.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

You need to be the type of person who:

- is organised, neat and tidy and good at getting stuck in
- is friendly and approachable
- has common sense
- can use your own initiative
- can work as part of a team

Previous experience would be great but it’s not essential as we’ll give you all the training you need. Really, you just need to be a friendly, helpful person who enjoys cleaning!

Practical information:

Ideally we’d love you to commit to a regular shift, but the shop is open 6/7 days a week and whatever time you’d like to give us, we’d be over the moon. This role works best at opening and closing time.

Comprehensive induction provided.

We can reimburse your reasonable local travel expenses for shifts of over 4 hours and we will be able to provide a reference to prospective employers.

We offer NVQ’s in Customer Service and Retail (England only).

This is a great opportunity to gain and develop your experience in the competitive retail sector, make new friends and help Sue Ryder provide incredible care to people living with the challenges of life-limiting conditions.
