Description of the role:

We collect donated furniture items (including full house clearance) from around the Harrogate district and drop them off to be checked, tested and sold in our warehouse. We also offer a delivery service to customers buying items from the warehouse. As a Volunteer Van Driver you will be accompanied by a Volunteer Driver’s Assistant or member of staff when collecting and delivering furniture and assisting with general warehouse duties. To drive the van you will need to be aged over 25 and have a relevant and clean driving licence.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

You will be given full training and any necessary ongoing support to carry out your volunteering role. We welcome and encourage volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and no prior experience is necessary.

To drive the van you will need to be aged over 25 and have a relevant and clean driving licence.

Practical information:

We generally ask for a commitment of half a day a week, where possible, (between the hours of 10am and 3pm), preferably on the same day each week for the purposes of planning collections and deliveries. We would like to aim for the van to be in and out each day to keep up with customer requests.

Full induction and ongoing training provided.

Out of pocket expenses reimbursed.

Located close to Hornbeam Park railway station and Leeds Road bus services.
