Description of the role:

We are looking for entertainers who would like to come once every 4-8 weeks to entertain our visually impaired members. It would be on Friday afternoons 2pm-3pm.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Able to play piano or musical instrument and/or sing.

Practical information:

2-3pm Friday afternoon every few weeks.

Organisation Information

The Centre is an independent, local charity that supports visually impaired people in Harrogate and the surrounding district. We seek to enable visually impaired adults from the age of 18 and above to live independently and provide opportunities to meet and interact with others. We offer Information technology training; provide advice on help that is available; information on visual impairments and have talking clocks. watches and other equipment to view and order if required
We run various craft and other groups (See the daily schedule) on a regular basis There are also opportunities to socialise, including meals out and excursions. In addition to activities in the Centre, we make home visits and run a telephone befriending service to help tackle social isolation.
