Description of the role:

We have rewarding voluntary opportunities available for up to four new Trustee members, with corporate backgrounds, good interpersonal skills and professional knowledge, to help to expand the skills represented on the Board and take Henshaws forward into an exciting new era. One role offers the opportunity to utilise and further develop Chairing skills.

Our vacancies:

• A link Trustee for CQC matters
• A member Trustee with substantial business and finance skills to join the Business, Finance and Investment committee
• A Trustee with in-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks to chair the Audit Committee
• A Vice Chair Trustee to support and on occasion deputise for the Chair of Trustees, ensuring the effective governance and strategic leadership of the charity.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

• A link Trustee for CQC matters, with experience of CQC inspections relevant to Adult Social Care settings
• A member Trustee with substantial business and finance skills to join the Business, Finance and Investment committee
• A Trustee with in-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks to chair the Audit Committee
• A Vice Chair Trustee to support and on occasion deputise for the Chair of Trustees, ensuring the effective governance and strategic leadership of the charity.

Practical information:

• Enthusiasm and an interest in services for disabled people
• Willingness to take an active role in the strategic direction of the Charity
• Confident in dealing with people working at an executive level
• Able to attend Board meetings, usually held in Manchester, 4 times a year

Henshaws work across the North of England. In the Harrogate District the charity run a specialist college for you young people aged 16-25 years empowering them to live independently.

The Arts and Crafts Centre is open to the public and provides vocational training for adults with disabilities.

Local housing and support for people with disabilities to live independently in their own homes.
