Description of the role:

• Supporting Foundation staff with the running of the Progress Group.
• Setting up the venue ready for the group.
• Welcoming and greeting Foundation customers to the group.
• Being involved with creative activities.
• Being involved with cooking activities.
• Helping with CV, covering letters, job searches and accommodation searches.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

• Able to communicate clearly and effectively and have good written and oral skills.
• Be mature, empathic, open-minded and non-judgemental in line with Foundation’s values and mission statement.
• Committed to working within the principles of equal opportunity and diversity.
• Apply professional boundaries when working with customers.
• Understand the issues faced by our customers and be committed to working with them.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality.
• Understand and prioritise safeguarding risks.
• Work independently and as a member of a dynamic team.

Practical information:

The Progress Group runs every Thursday 10am - 3 pm.

Foundation delivers a range of services across the City York:

Resettlement and Community Support (RACS) – offering intensive resettlement and accommodation support for offenders who are assessed as being a greater risk to the community.

Making Safe – supporting victims of domestic abuse to remain in their own homes and at the same time challenging the perpetrators behaviour.

Support for adult offenders to access and maintain a range of accommodation within the city.

Young people aged 16-25 are supported to find a home and develop skills to live.

Foundation also manages a hostel which houses 5 vulnerable 16-19 year olds and provides 24 hour staff support.
