Description of the role:

This is a fabulous role for anyone who would like to support people with dementia to continue to take part in hobbies and activities. Our hub clubs run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at our converted chapel in a village just outside Ripon. The group take part in various activities including gardening, crafts, cake decorating, walking and life story work. The sessions are run by a member of Dementia Forward staff with the assistance of volunteers on a rota basis.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

There are no specific skills or qualifications necessary other than an ability to show empathy for people living with dementia and their carers, but we would love to hear about the skills you have so that we can make sure you get the most out of your role.

Practical information:

The hub clubs run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday and we are keen to hear from anyone who is available on any of these days. Please get in touch to find out more.

Dementia Forward is a local charitable organisation supporting people living with dementia in the Harrogate and York districts. Dementia Support Advisers and Admiral Nurses provide a wrap around service from information and advice to practical and emotional support. In addition they run social events and weekly groups, focussing on wellbeing and peer support. Anyone can use this free service - please call our local helpline on 01765 601224, Mon -Fri, 9am-4pm.
