Peer Support Group Facilitator
Description of the role:

The Volunteer Peer Group Facilitator works with another trained volunteer facilitator to run the peer support group. They introduce the meeting, outlining how the group works, then they invite those present to share. They manage the group space and the interaction between those present. The meeting follows a structure. After the meeting refreshments are offered to all present.

- Having enthusiasm for this area of mental health or for the work of PeerTalk.

- Being a person of integrity.

Practical information:

We provide a full day's training before the volunteering starts.

Please note: Training Day takes place on Saturday 16 June 2018 in Skipton.

Then ongoing support and training once the volunteer is in place. We do this through meeting with our volunteers face to face once every 6 weeks.

The support group meetings are weekly. The volunteers are not expected to volunteer every week, but we ask to work for 3 consecutive weeks on a rota basis, after which there will be a break.
