Description of the role:

Wildlife team volunteers engage visitors with wildlife and our cause by delivering a range of wildlife walks and maintaining our family bird hide. They also contribute their skills and expertise to a range of wildlife themed family activities.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

This role will suit people who are passionate and knowledgeable about wildlife and the aims of the National Trust, enjoy meeting people and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge in a friendly and approachable manner.

Practical information:

Wildlife volunteers contribute regularly to our hide maintenance rota, typically once peer fortnight, and help deliver a series of wildlife themed walks or activities over the course of each year. You’ll be expected to attend the following training: Two day Estate Induction, Service Promise training, Role specific training. Out-of-pocket travel costs between home and volunteering place will be paid up to a maximum of 40 miles, and other reasonable expenses agreed in advance.
