Description of the role:

The North Yorkshire Rotters need YOU!

Are you interested in encouraging people to be more environmentally friendly? Do you enjoy attending events? Do you have a passion for getting involved in your local community, meeting people and sharing your knowledge and experience? The North Yorkshire Rotters have a busy calendar of events over the summer and they are looking for keen composters and food lovers to join them as volunteers. With free training provided and free entry into some of the best events North Yorkshire has to offer, now is a great time to sign up. The North Yorkshire Rotters are passionate volunteers who want to help their communities to reduce waste and save money by promoting home composting and the Love Food Hate Waste programme by offering help and advice on how to compost. The Rotters encourage people to compost at home and help those who are already composting to do so more effectively, by attending a range of events and shows across the county and giving talks to interested groups. If you are interested, why not give it a go!

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

We are looking for people who are: Volunteers with an interest in attending events in North Yorkshire and / or providing talks to various groups. Friendly / enthusiastic and able to communicate effectively with the general public. At various events in North Yorkshire.

Practical information:

Full travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Organisation Information

The North Yorkshire Rotters are fully trained volunteers who work with us to:
· Raise awareness amongst the wider public of the importance of Home Composting and the Love Food Hate Waste campaign.
· Encourage more people to compost at home
· Help those already composting to do so more effectively
· Advise on reducing food waste by effective planning, storing and cooking with leftovers
· Attend shows, events and talks
· Help maintain compost display areas and much more…
