Description of the role:

Thinking of new and innovative ways to generate stock to sell in our shops is crucial to our success as a charity retailer. The Great Donate scheme is one initiative within the Retail Department to support this process. The Great Donate exists to encourage businesses to support their local Scope shop with donations, on an ongoing basis or by holding 'one off' stock generating events. You will be assisting the shop management in the promotion and implementation of successful Great Donate events. Anything from a 1 hour per week commitment. Range of tasks to be carried out: Explaining the benefits of the Great Donate scheme to others, both internally and externally to Scope Searching for businesses that may be able to host a 'Great Donate' Contacting businesses to explain the Great Donate scheme to them Encouraging other volunteers to actively promote the Great Donate initiative Providing support before, during and after planned events to maximise success and to ensure they run smoothly and successfully

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Good Telephone manner Ability to volunteer as part of a team, encouraging positivity to support national initiatives with the retail department Passionate about Scope and its cause; with a desire to raise awareness of Scope locally Keen interest in generating good quality, saleable items for Scope shops Able to use initiative; thinking of new and innovative ways to encourage stock generation
