Supporting people with learning disabilities with baking
Ripon Community Link (RCL) at Ripon Walled Garden & St Wilfrid's Bungalow
Description of the role:

Giving individual support to adults with learning disabilities, within a group setting, who are learning basic baking skills under the guidance of the member of staff. The group meet on a Friday afternoon from 1.30 - 4.00pm. All volunteers receive a short induction about learning disabilities and the objectives of the organisation before starting. There is a more detailed course which volunteers are required to attend, and this is held about twice a year. All volunteering is subject to satisfactory references and DBS check. A criminal record is not in itself a bar to volunteering, but certain kinds of offence will automatically exclude the applicant. We are not able to pay travelling expenses to and from the project, but expenses incurred on behalf of the organisation will be reimbursed.
