Tandem Club Volunteers

Tandem Club Volunteers
Open Country
Description of the role:

We run tandem clubs for people with disabilities and need volunteers to pilot the bikes. Our clubs are in Wetherby (Mondays), Harrogate (Tuesdays), York (Tuesdays) and Ripon (Thursdays). Our stokers have visual impairments and/or learning disabilities. Wherever we go, we have fun - and get fit at the same time!

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Tandem experience is not essential as training is given, but the ability to ride a bike is helpful! Good communication skills, patience and a sense of humour are also useful.

Practical information:

Our clubs meet at 6pm from April to October and usually ride out for up to three hours (depending on the time of year) with a pub stop along the way.
