Description of the role:

Volunteering with Horticap students in the workshop making items for the site, the garden and for sale in the shop. Plenty of opportunity for you to make items to your own designs. Best suited to someone with joinery skills.

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

Joinery skills, lots of patience and a sense of humour . Ideal for anyone who loves being in a workshop and with the assistance of students.

Practical information:

Any weekday for a minimum of a half day session. Volunteers tend to stay with Horticap a long time once they start!

Organisation Information

To provide horticultural training, supported employment and training for people with learning difficulties. Sells products, garden plants, hanging baskets. Undertakes garden maintenance. Uses volunteers to work alongside students and to assist with transport.
Our garden, wildlife area and shop are open to the public every day from 10am until 4pm (the tearoom is open until 3.30pm).
