DIY, gardening or decorating volunteer - Help at Home

DIY, gardening or decorating volunteer - Help at Home
Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP)
Description of the role:

Got some spare time? Retired, but not too tired? Want to get fit but not in a gym? Live in a flat but enjoy gardening? We need your help with gardening, decorating and DIY. There are also roles for volunteers to support other less able volunteers with these tasks. This is a role helping vulnerable people in their own homes. The gardening takes place in the summer months whereas the decorating is in the winter months. At the moment you will be volunteering with a supervisor and not on your own. It's up to you how much time you give, a half day every now and then, a few hours each week or each month, during holiday times - you can volunteer to suit your commitments. If you just like decorating and not gardening or vice versa, that's fine too. Our normal volunteering day is 10am to 3.00pm. What ever time you give we know our clients will thank you for it, and so will we!

Skills and qualities needed for the role:

No formal qualifications required. Volunteers generally need to be fit and active

Practical information:

Volunteers will volunteer together with our Help at Home support workers. They would normally report to our offices in Community House, Harrogate from where they will travel to the job in the Help at Home van
