Helping Disabled People To Ride and Carriage Drive

Helping Disabled People To Ride and Carriage Drive
Follifoot Park Disabled Riders Group
Description of the role:

Volunteers are the essential part of our Group and we could not function without them. We have a wide range of people, both in age and skills, who give an hour or two of their free time each week. We offer a warm welcome to cheerful, reliable people who would like to be part of our dedicated team. You don’t have to know anything about horses - we provide full introductory and on-going training so that you can help us make riding enjoyable and rewarding for both you and our disabled friends. The 100 disabled riders at Follifoot range from two years old to seventy! There are rides in groups of seven riders every weekday and on Sunday afternoon. Each rider requires three volunteers. We're a friendly bunch and volunteering at Follifoot always involves much laughter and fun. This is a great way to get some fresh air and exercise, meet new people and make a real difference! Minimum time commitment 1 1/2 hours per week. Rides run on Mondays 1.30 and 2.30, Tuesdays 9.30, 10.30, 5.00 and 5.45, Wednesdays 9.30, 10.30, 4.45, Thursdays 1.45, 6.30, 7.30, Fridays 10.15, Sundays 3.00, 4.15. If you would like to go for a taster session, please call ahead of the time you can go and let the group know you will be there.
