Free 1 to 1 social media help for your charity, group or club

Research suggests that small charities miss out on donations because the public is unaware of them. Raise the profile of your charity or group and connect with more volunteers, supporters and people who need your services.

A social media surgery is an informal gathering of people who want to learn how to use the web for their group to communicate, campaign or collaborate. Surgeries are deliberately relaxed with no presentations.

Instead you will sit next to someone who understands good ways to use the internet, someone who will listen to what you do, and then show you free, useful tools. If you like what you see they can also help you set up your blog, Facebook page or Twitter account.

Harrogate District Social Media Surgery is a free advice session for community and voluntary groups, clubs, societies and small arts organisations. Come along to find out how you can use free web sites and services to organise activities, promote events, raise funds, collect feedback, recruit volunteers and more!

We don't offer timed appointments, you can turn up any time between 6 and 7pm, so be prepared to wait if we are particularly busy. We do offer free tea, coffee and cakes and often find people waiting to be seen start sharing ideas for social media use amongst themselves as well!

Finally, if you book a place, please turn up. Others may have been turned away for your place, and all our "surgeons" are volunteers giving up their own time to help you, so it is only fair to let us know if you won’t be able to make it.

Pop in between 6.00pm – 8.00pm for free, friendly 1 to 1 advice with our social media volunteers. Free coffee and cake served too!

Places are free but you need to book in advance so we can match the number of people helping to those that would like some help.
